The seed series combines the beauty of these tiny natural powerhouses with my interest in gardening and my concern for the biodiversity of agriculture. Each of the seeds or beans I have chosen are native to the Americas and thus are important links to our past food heritage and the future of seed diversity. In this age of patented seeds, it is necessary for us to invest in our future food sustainability for ourselves and the natural world we want to continue to live in. This is an ongoing series that I add to periodically as I discover new varieties of heritage seeds. Check back for new seed inspirations!

Each image is painted with acrylic paint on a square of canvas that has been glued to a wood panel. The cradles are painted in the same color as the front and are 11/2 inches deep.
